Weekend without the hubby

Hubby is back from an another interview!! We've been married for almost two months and out of those amazing eight weeks, half of those weekends my hubby left me all alone.. sniff sniff!
David has been flying out all around the country (well, mostly Texas) for Medical School interviews. Soon though, he will be done with those interviews and he'll be all mine again. Well, that is until he starts attending Med School. Argargarg.. (Side note, who wouldn't want David at their school? All of those schools better accept my husband!!!)

Anyhow, what do you do when your hubby is away? I went all out on cleaning supplies thanks to Real Simple and Pinterest and stocked up our fridge. Nom nom nom.. Then, I drove down to Provo to see my dear friends Emily and Rebecca and my sister! After stuffing ourselves at Yamato,  Em and I drove up to attend Women's Conference. Our church holds General Conference every six months in SLC. This is when all the church leaders including the Prophet of our church, President Thomas S. Monson and the twelve apostles of Jesus Christ give inspiring talks to remind us of our Savior and the covenants we made with Him. Also, what we need to do in order to return back to our Father in Heaven. Some pretty amazing stuff, if I do say so myself. (If you want to know more about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, go to www.mormon.org )

Every year, there is a conference just for the women  right before the week of General Conference. They remind how great we are whereas during Priesthood (conference for the brethren) they mostly chastise them. haha!  (Did you know people actually hand out tissues for the women? They were nicely wrapped in pretty ribbons and all. And boy, everyone used them!) Our Relief Society leaders and the Apostles of Jesus Christ really know how to push our emotional buttons. The talks were so inspiring. During one of the talks, I started thinking about my Temple Sealing to David, the covenants we made and the life we will have together, for time and all eternity. David continuously motivates me to become a better person and the Gospel makes everything so worth  it!
Emily piggy and I at Women's Conference! Sorry for the quality of pic :(
For our Sunday dinner, I made David's favorite Korean dish, bulgogi and kimchi cchiage! I will always be grateful that David loves Korean food and is not a picky eater!
Bulgogi!
The love of my life, David Eng.

Dinner, leave it to the hubby!

Work is extremely difficult when most of your coworkers dislike your religion. Even more so whey they criticize your beliefs! I'm one of the two teachers at work that are Latter Day Saints. (Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Also known as Mormons). The rest of them do NOT like my religion, which is completely fine. I understand and respect their opinions. Never do I try to preach my religion. Nor do I think I am any better than those who are not of my faith. However, as adults, I believe it should be mutual. At my work, I often walk into a conversation about "Mormons and how XXXXX we are." At first, I sat through and listened. I often shared some opinions. Sometimes agreed and sometimes disagreed. In the end, I repeatedly told them religion should focus mainly on your relation with God. Never judge my gospel by the people! We are so imperfect and weak.. The gospel/church is perfect. People are not. Now, it's gotten to the point where I'm a bit afraid to pull out my Ensign during lunch. Hostile work environment, right? :( This is one of the biggest WOWs I had to encounter once we moved to Murray. David and I were quite surprised once we figured out that outside of Provo/Orem area, there really aren't a lot of members of our same faith! I'm still learning how to be the odd one. Once we move out of Utah, it'll only get worse so I know I need to overcome this! Any suggestions?

Anyhow, what is better than stepping into your home after a L-O-N-G day at work?? Coming home to a home cooked meal by the hubby! Yes, my husband is quite amazing! Was I ever so touched to see David running around the kitchen, furiously trying to cook up a meal! Dishes and pans flying everywhere and my dear David was doing absolutely everything he could to perfect his meal!  He made Parmesan chicken with spaghetti and cooked veggies! And oh my, it was delicious! Thanks to my dear husband, I got over my frustrating day. He prepared a great meal and let me vent about my day. Not only is he a great cook but he's also a patient listener. (I'm sorry, I'll stop bragging about my hubby. But I really did marry the most amazing man alive!)  I was so touched by his meal I gladly said okay when he wanted to leave me for his other lover, PS3 for the night! :(  I'm such a good wife!!!   (But really, guys and their video games! Psh!!) :( :(
David and Diana and our wonderful Dinner!

Nom nom nom. Thanks hubby!

Saturday Night Fun!

Another typical lazy Saturday for David and I. We did the usual: laundry, grocery shopping, and stuff ourselves! We were lucky enough to be invited to two dinners :D Heehee.

First, we drove up to Peter (David's cousin) and Jenny Shen's home for their son Noah's first birthday party! It was so great to meet his cousins (mom's side of the family). It was my first time meeting Margaret (David's cousin and Peter's sister) and her husband Tony as well. Anyhow, we stuffed ourselves with amazing food and enjoyed good company! Peter and Jenny's sons Eli and Noah are so cute!!
The entire fam

David will be such a good daddy. Not for awhile though :p

Happy Birthday baby Noah!

We then drove up to Provo to enjoy some samgyupsal. I love being married to David but I sure miss my life in Provo plus my friends. I've no friends here :( My dear friend Emily threw a Korean samgyupsal dinner and we just couldn't miss it! Aww.. My dear Emily and Rebecca.

Two dinners and two dinners straight in a row!  Man, we're so full. Good thing we skipped lunch today =P Definitely ate over 2000 calories! Time to end our Saturday with an episode of Bridal Mask (Korean drama)! I'm sure LovEng life right now!! :D

Ahnyoung

As David and I have family scattered all over the world, I decided to start a blog so they can stalk us even more. Just kidding! :p But, as technology is now a part of our everyday life, it seemed as if this would be the best way to keep in contact with our families and friends. Also, this way, I'll be able to slack off on my journal entries ;)

If anyone does read this blog, chances are  that they are either family or a close friend. Therefore,  I will not bore you with our story nor will I post our wedding pictures. But believe me, they will start coming out, one by one. [Click here if you would like to know more about how we met. Go to our Facebook-David Eng or Diana C. Eng,  if you would like to see wedding pictures].

As today is Friday, it was date night! David and I are trying hard to stick to a budget so rather than going out to eat, we decided to make bibimbap, one of David's favorite Korean foods. (Side note: It's funny because when we were dating, every single time we went to eat Korean food, David would always order bibimbap. And,  I secretly thought his reasoning behind it was to simply stay away from kimchi or spicy foods. Now I know he really enjoys it!) Anyhow, I first attempted to make this delicious dish when we first got married on a Sunday night. It took me two hours! :( Now, I can whip this out in less than forty mins. Thanks for helping jagi! <3 br="br" nbsp="nbsp">
(Sorry for the quality of the picture. This was taken by David's iphone. He really should convert to Samsung! *Ahem!)

After dinner, David took me out to a yummy dessert place, the Chocolate. We shared a cazookie-half backed cookie topped with vanilla ice cream. Yum =)

Although the location is different, the Chocolate brings back memories!  About a year ago, before we started dating, David once asked me if I wanted to go get dessert at the Chocolate in Orem. This is when we both liked each other but both unsure if it was a mutual feeling. At that time, it was so difficult to read David. Not wanting to misread him, I  brought my girlfriends along, not knowing poor David actually wanted it to be a date. He paid for all of us.. heehee =) Oops :p Anyhow, though the location was SLC, not Orem, visiting the Chocolate made me think of those pre-dating days when everything about us seemed so unsure. We both laughed about the past.

How funny is it that what we fret and  worry about now will mean nothing if we remain to be patience and let time solve our worries? Last year, I was so afraid I would lose David as a friend. Every single day, I went through emotional torture.' Should I tell him? What if he doesn't like me? What if we don't work out? What it? WHAT IF?... ' But guess what? We are married now. For time and all eternity. I will continue to  fret and worry about other problems throughout my life. However, never do I have to worry about losing David as a friend. He is now my bestfriend ( sad, but true. I have z-e-r-o friends in Murray) my one and only, my dearest husband, my eternal companion. And, as a husband,  I know he'll just have to fret and worry with me from now on! :P Married life, with David Li Teh Eng, is GREAT!
